The Prince of Wales Hospice held their annual Santa Dash and we had to go and have a look.
The dash is approximately 2.5 km from the Prince of Wales Hospice into and around town and then back again. I thought I would take the children to go and offer some support for this event.
The dash started at the Hospice and there were loads of people raring to go! There was Christmas classics playing and everyone set off at 11am. Although it isn’t necessary to dress as Santa, most people did – some even dressed up their dogs in outfits.
I think it’s great that the race goes into town, it was wonderful seeing all the Santa’s running through town, and there was a great atmosphere with the car’s beeping their horns to support everyone. I was also impressed with the wide range of people that enter this Santa Dash, from the really young to grandparents and so were my children. They have made me promise that we will all do it next year together.
Everyone returned to the Prince of Wales Hospice, where they were awarded their medals for completing the dash or dawdle (think ours will be a dawdle next year lol) and there were mince pies, buns and drinks to welcome everyone back.
What a fantastic event to help raise funds for the Hospice. We will definitely be signing up to join this event next year, and I hope that you will join us as well.
