Farmer Copley’s Corn Maze, Pontefract
It’s school holidays and we needed to entertain the kids. We decided on a trip to Farmer Copley’s Maze.
When we arrived we were greeted by friendly and helpful staff who explained to us the admission prices. We decided to go for the access all area all day pass which was £6.99 for adults and £7.99 for children. This allowed us to go into the maze and afterwards the kids could have as many turns on the Corn slide, pillow and other attractions they had to offer.
There’s two part to the maze. The main maze and the mini maze. Children must be accompanied with an adult in the main maze. We found a picnic table and the kids ran off to play in the mini maze. They were in there for 30 minutes playing the game which gave us some time to grab a cup of tea and relax.
To enter the main Maze you see a short briefing video, which tells you about the games to play and how to do them. You are provided with a game sheet and crayon and given the opportunity to take a flag if you should get lost or need some assistance (as if! It’s a maze, who gets lost?)
Then we were off. The corn this year is incredibly high (over 6ft), so there’s no chance of cheating! The corn Maze is 7 Acres big, so I would really suggest that everyone wears sensible shoes, as you will do a lot of walking and the ground is uneven.
It is fun and challenging and when I was navigating we kept getting lost lol. We weren’t the only ones and even made some new friends on our adventure. Thankfully my friend was much better at navigating us through the maze.
Please don’t worry if you are planning to come to the Maze as there are plenty of Corn Rangers who are available if you need help or assistance. Just wave your flag and someone will come to assist you, in your hour of need. They state to allow 2 hours to finish this maze, so be prepared 😉
After completing the maze the kids spent another couple of hours playing on the other attraction. There’s lots to keep the kids entertained including Jumping Pillow, Mini Wagon Ride, Bale Mountain, Copley’s Corn Maze Slide and the Corn Café provided them with ice cream and slush.
This was a fantastic day out, good value for money and I can’t wait to go back to try and see all of the Maze. The staff were all very polite and helpful and really made this an enjoyable day out.
